August at Meadowbrooke

August is a time of small transitions here at the store. I start getting the feeling that I’m done with the hot weather, the Summer Celebration is over and school will soon be starting. I know I will hear about this from the people that love this hot and humid weather but that’s ok, I’ve heard it before.

I guess I am starting to think of cool days, cooler evenings, bonfires, sweaters and Fall. So, with that on my mind, I will start moving the store more towards a Fall theme and slowly move the other gourds to a different spot. Don’t worry though, the Spring and All Season gourds will still be there so if you are still waiting to or haven’t ordered these yet, you still will have a chance. We have lots of new Fall gourds this year. Our new Big Ben and Skully Candy Dishes are absolutely great! Anyone who knows me knows I love candy and these hold so much and look wonderful sitting where ever you put them. I also really like our battery-operated new tea lit Fiona the witch and Cole the black cat. These would be great for an office desk or a nightstand for a little light in the middle of the night.

Thinking Fall but not Halloween, check out our new Theodore the Turkey family. They are being kept warm by their hand made black top hats. They come in unlit, battery-operated tea lit and electric lit so you have several choices to pick from for that perfect spot. Our designers have added a green dye to our two new Sunflowers gourds which just totally completes them. They are so pretty, they could easily be left out all year long.

I’m not the only one thinking about Fall, so is our design team. You really need to take a look at the new arrival for August. It is part of our new “Little” family of gourds, the NEW Lil’ Jack Stack. Have you ever seen anything so cute? These would make a unique hostess gift if you are invited for a Halloween party. More on hostess gifts in another blog, stay tuned.

Lastly, we are putting finishing touches on the Fall Create Your Own which will be held on the last two weekends in September. Look for registration to open later this month. Please make sure you are signed up for our email newsletter so you can be one of the first to know when registration begins. Looking forward to getting all the new Fall gourds out.

Until next month,

Dori
